How to Build Your High-Ticket Coaching Program

If you want to make $$$ online

Hey hey,

I turn 24 years young today. Which honestly? Is kinda scary to think about.

The big 2. 4. Seems so old, doesn’t it? Is it just me or does time seem to move faster the older you get?

Anyways, before I spiral into a quarter-life crisis (might be too late for that lol), I wanted to share what I’ve been building behind the scenes and show you how you can do the same.

Sound good?

Alrighty, let’s dive right into this one!

Here’s what we’ll be covering this week:

How you can build a high-ticket coaching offer.

This Week’s Blueprint đŸ—ș

I’ve been hard at work building something exciting behind the scenes (and in my totally unbiased opinion, I think you’ll really like it).

What is it, you might ask?

It’s a new coaching program that helps beginners sign their first client and make their first $5,000 and beyond online.

And today, I’m going to be breaking down exactly what I did so you can replicate the process and build a high-ticket coaching offer for yourself.

Let’s get into it, shall we?

But before we do, If you’re a freelancer, coach, personal brand owner, or digital creator that wants to sign your first client and make your first $5,000 online?

Step #1: Learn a High-Income Skill

Now, if you don’t already have a skill you can monetize, that’s the first place you’ll start.

Because truth is, nobody’s going to pay you to coach them if you don’t have a skill you’re able to teach them.

Would you pay a fitness coach to teach you how to lose weight if they’re 300 pounds and have never lost a single pound in their life? Heck no!

So step number one is to learn a high-value, in-demand skill that others want to learn.

Think about the things you like and enjoy. What do you have experience in yourself or what do you want to learn more about?

Answering these questions will help you determine what you’ll be using as the foundation of your coaching program.

A few examples might be:

  • Ghostwriting

  • Personal branding

  • Sales and marketing

  • Fitness or productivity coaching

YouTube and Google are free resources. You can also join someone else’s course or program to learn the skill you want to teach others and “fast track” the learning process.

Step #2: Get Specific About Who You Help

Have a high-income, in-demand skill you can teach others? Great!

Now for the next step: Actually determining who you’re going to help out with your coaching program.

Why? Because if you try to help everyone, you end up helping no one.

So you need to get very specific about the type of person you help.

For example, if your skill is ghostwriting, you’re probably going to want to target people newer to their online business journey who want to learn a high-income skill like writing.

If your skill is fitness coaching, you’re probably going to want to target busy founders or CEO’s who want to get in the best shape of their life.

If your skill is sales, you’re probably going to want to target people who already own a business who want to close more deals.

You see?

You need to get very specific about the type of person you want to help:

  • What are their problems?

  • What does their dream life look like?

  • What’s stopping them from achieving their goals?

Alright, now that we’ve determined who we’re going to help, we have to actually find out what they want and are in desperate need of.

And the best way to do that is to jump on free calls with your ideal customers ↓

Step #3: Conduct Free Market Research Calls

No, this isn’t a step you can skip. Yes, it’s a requirement if you want people to actually buy your coaching offer.

Why?

Because you don’t want to spend weeks building your coaching program only to find out that nobody wants it
 right?

So the best way to build something you know people want is to ask them.

After you’ve found your specific audience and identified the types of people you want to coach, find out where they hang out online and offer to jump on a free call to ask about their biggest challenges.

  • How’s ___ going so far for them?

  • What are they struggling with most when it comes to ___?

  • What have they tried in the past that didn’t work?

  • If they could solve ONE thing, what would it be?

Write down all the answers you get.

Ask 10 - 20 people these questions and pretty soon you’ll start to see some patterns and be able to create a solution around those things (* cough cough * these solutions will be the basis of your coaching program!).

This is exactly what I did when I was building my own coaching program to ensure it was actually something people would benefit from.

Step #4: Build Your Coaching Offer

So now the next logical question is
what exactly is your coaching offer going to look like?

That may seem like a daunting question when you’re just starting to build it, but after you’ve gone through the previous step and done your market research, you should have a much better idea of what it will look like.

Here’s what I’d recommend you do:

Open up a blank Google Doc or Notion page and at the very top, write down who you’re going to be helping (from the previous step).

Then write down exactly what your coaching program will look like. Write this out in as much detail as possible. Will you have weekly live calls? 1-on-1 meetings with your clients? A community platform to have discussions?

Any and all ideas you have
 write them down!

Next, outline what the outcome is that you want to help people achieve. Maybe it’s signing their first client. Maybe it’s scaling their agency. Maybe it’s getting in the best shape of their life.

Remember, there’s a common theme when it comes to creating your coaching offer:

The more specific, the better.

Finally, write down when you want to get your clients to the above outcome. Specific timelines always work best. 30 days, 60 days, 90 days

Just be sure it’s actually reasonable and attainable and never make a promise that’s impossible to achieve.

Now that the hard part is complete, all that’s left to do is actually build the program!

Based on your deliverables outlined above, determine the tools and resources you’ll need to build the program. 98% of the time, you won’t need anything more than:

  • Notion for organization

  • Zoom for weekly meetings

  • Slack/Discord/Telegram to host the community

All of which are free and simple to use, I must add!

Step #5: Create a Lead Magnet and Email Sequence

Now that you’ve built your coaching offer, you definitely should be promoting and pitching it directly to your target audience from the get go.

However, there’s also another path you can take that will lead to more clients down the line.

Since not everyone will be ready to invest in a paid coaching program right away, I’d recommend creating a free lead magnet related to your program. This does two things:

  1. Gives your audience a taste of what your program is like

  2. Gets them in your initial “sales funnel,” where you can reach out to them via email in the future.

I won’t go too much into detail about how to do this, since I already wrote previous newsletters here on creating a sales magnet and writing an email welcome sequence.

But one of the advantages of this tactic is you can pin your lead magnet to your social media profile and add the link to your bio.

Now whenever someone visits your profile and grabs your lead magnet, they’ll make their way into your sales funnel without you lifting a finger.

(Here’s an example of mine so you can see how it works in action)

Bada bing bada boom!

Step #6: Promote, Promote, Promote!

Truth is, you could have the best coaching program in the world. But it won’t mean a thing if nobody knows it exists.

That’s why it’s so important you put yourself out there and make people aware that you (and your coaching offer) exists.

  • Send DM’s

  • Post content

  • Engage with others

The more people see your name, the more likely they are to click on your profile. The more people who click on your profile, the more likely they are to grab your lead magnet. And the more people who grab your lead magnet, the more likely they are to become coaching clients.

So if you don’t take anything else away from this email, let it be this:

Shamelessly promote yourself and your offers to your audience.

Because you never know who’s going to see it and become your next customer or client.

This Week’s Action Steps đŸŸ

Annnndddd
 there you have it!

This is essentially the exact process I followed to create my high-ticket coaching program, and the same process you can follow to create one or your own.

Here are your action steps for this week:

  1. Get very specific about who you want to help (who’s your dream client?)

  2. Reach out to 10 - 20 of those people and hop on free calls with them

  3. Outline your who, what, when, why, and how of your coaching offer

That’s it for this week. As always, reach out if you have any questions :)

Now, I’m off to celebrate the big 2. 4.
